Clinical Examination:
- The filly presented sound at the walk however with a mild bilateral digital pulse.
- The left lateral sole has delaminated with healthy new sole re growth.
Radiographic Examination:
Left Front Hoof: Dorso ventral radiographs from today show considerable resolution of the Type IV solar margin fractures evident medially and laterally on the 10th of Jan 24 as indicated by the red arrows below. One medial fracture remains as indicated.
Right Front Hoof: Dorso ventral views show again significant resolution of both medial and lateral type IV fractures. An additional fracture can be identified medially.
Comments:
Fracture resolution times have been unexpectedly short.
Recommendations:
- Continue daily bandage changes applying topical iodine as directed for the next 5 days.
- Shoe with alloys seated out to circumference without side clips and apply Sole pack CS once soles are hardened.
- The filly should remain in box rest walking 20 mins twice daily until shod and re-evaluated 7 days post shoeing.
- Continue Bone Gold at 3 x scoops once per day.

DESCRIPTION: 16YO BAY PONY GLDG

PLACE: EQUINE PODIATRY FACILITY PULLENVALE
Clinical examination on 31st Aug showed skin irritation of the base of the tail, mane and poll. The base of the tail and mid neck dorsal crest shows focal discharging sites of infection.
Re examination on 1st Dec 23 shows resolution of topical infection and hair regrowth over mane, face and tail base as seen in photographs.
History:
The gelding has been treated previously with various unknown corticosteroids that had proved nonresponsive.
Recommendations:
Continue TOTAL GOLD supplementation and daily rugging.

DESCRIPTION: 14YO BAY STOCKHORSE MARE
DATE OF EXAMINATION: 16TH SEP 23 / 18TH DEC 23

Re-examination of the mare shows considerable resolution of all associated lesions as per photographs. The sub dermal infection has resolved with significant follicular regrowth over the tail base, rump, neck and face as per photographs.
The mare has gained weight, appears comfortable and the seborrheic smell has dissipated.
Comments:
Remarkable recovery from a debilitating chronic skin disease.
Recommendations:
Continue TOTAL GOLD supplementation and utilising the light weatherproof rug.
