Good day, everyone. Back in the car with another case to talk about—can’t help it! Feed is driving me bananas, especially when it comes to laminitis.

You’ve got to start thinking more carefully about feed for laminitic horses. There’s so much information out there, and it can be confusing, but let’s try to keep it simple. If you’ve got a laminitic horse, just cut out the "L word"—lucerne. Just cut out lucerne, whether it’s in pellets, hay, or anything else.

If you have a horse with laminitis, please do me a favour and eliminate lucerne from their diet. You’ll be doing the horse, yourself, and everyone a favour—and your vet will love you for it too!
